A new leaf. A statement of intent.

I have never been the biggest fan of blogs. I have often found them intrusive and banal. It felt like reading the unwanted diary of Joe Bloggs which could never get published into paperback. So instead he hacked his way on to internet with his contagious mundanity and mediocrity. However I have overcome my truculent ways and over the past 3 months I have been following an array of different blog's that I have found utterly fascinating and addictive. John Snow does an incredibly insightful blog within and around his newsroom. With every article I read of John's it reminds me of how much I despise the disgusting and inhuman neutrality of every BBC journalist.

Roger Ebert's blog is ever awe inspiring with his encyclopedic knowledge of every film that has virtually ever existed. Each article he write's comes with such great articulation that forever leaves me deep green in envy. Moreover, I feel there is still a tone of youthfulness and simplicity - as if he still just a little kid who loves sneaking into the picture house at any possible chance. Him being at tender age of 69, I find it quite a feat.

Dare I even mention Milton Jone's twitter account never fails to crack me up with his off the cuff one liners. I do hasten to add this is very much a one-off affair. Generally when I here the words twitter or facebook I convulse into a fit of anxiety followed into inscrutable rage leaving me immobile for 3 to 4 minutes… finally when I come round again I have the taste of half eaten slug in my mouth.

Blimey it is easy to digress with this contraption.

My statement of intent is to add 3 additions of work I admire each week. May it be a selection of photographs, a well executed short film, an article that touches me, a music video that humours me or even preferentially work of my own to share to world. I shall try maintain it within the film and art world and not just the bither bothering thoughts of middle class boy. I feel it essential it has direction otherwise I simply turn into my own worst enemy and will have to succumb to tattooing Mr Bloggs on each nipple. It will be good incentive to keep me pro-active - however with more of a secretive undertone to sharpen up on my literal & grammar skills…(I have reread this article at least 9 times already and I am still finding mistakes.)

Well to get the cogs grinding I will give you a Brucey Bonus of 3 links…

Father & Daughter

One of my favourite short film's. If I could get any frame from this short I would literally frame and put it up on my wall. Perfectly executed and an unforgettable score.

Until the next time...
